Skype Click to Call Plugin in Safari Web Browser Is Not Working

Skype Click to Call Plugin
Skype makes it easy to call any number through the Skype Click to Call Plugin available for most browsers. Once you find a number in a website, you can easily call that number when you have the plugin installed. There is no longer a need to take note of the number and dial it through Skype or your phone. Just make sure you have enough Skype credit for the call.

However, when you upgrade your operating system from Mac OS X v 10.9 Maverick you will notice that the Skype Click to Call plugin in Safari web browser would stop working. This is because the upgraded OS does not support the said plugin. As a result, several compatibility issues may arise.

To prevent this from happening, follow the steps below:

  1. Open Safari browser.
  2. Go to Preferences.
  3. Click Extensions in the menu bar.
  4. Uncheck the Enable Skype Click to Call option.

Note: Do not try uninstalling the plugin from the browser preferences since this will not remove it completely and won’t resolve the issue.

Although it’s a very useful function, unfortunately, the Skype Click to Call plugin is not available for Safari web browser in the upgraded Mac OS. A work around would be to use another browser such as Google Chrome where the plugin is compatible with.

Although these feature does not work for your Safari browser, do not despair. There are many other wonderful and useful Skype features that you can take advantage of.
